In addition to mechanical seals, shaft lip seals are another way of safely and effectively sealing the agitator shafts of glass-lined agitators. In close cooperation with THALETEC, EagleBurgmann  (www.eagleburgmann.com) has developed a shaft lip seal for glass-lined agitated tanks and agitators from all manufacturers. A patented lip design and the patented combination of PTFE sealing lip and sliding bearings in the lip sealing element impart particularly high mobility to the new ‘SeccoLip TT’ dry-running seal.

With this patented technical feature, the lip seal directly and safely compensates for radial deflections of the shafts in agitators and reactors.
